T.C. BENSON
A fund raising and marketing professional for over 30 years, T.C. has worked with many of America’s most prestigious organizations including the Smithsonian Institution, creating and leading the Department of Development and Public Affairs for the Natural History Museum for ten years; the National Trust for Historic Preservation, including serving as the founding director of the White House Millennium project, Save America’s Treasures; Georgetown University, raising $55 million of their first $150 million capital campaign; Washington National Cathedral, surpassing fund raising goal for the first ever Women’s World Summit; the National Park Foundation, providing governance and fund raising analysis for the Flight 93 project as consultant and then as Senior Vice President for Development; and the San Francisco Symphony, designing and executing the sponsorship for their PBS series, “Keeping Score” with Michael Tilson Thomas. T.C.’s talents range from not for profit organizational management and resource development, to marketing, branding and events.
T.C. is a frequent guest lecturer at Washington, DC area universities, is resident of Capitol Hill and is actively involved as a volunteer and patron in both art and preservation organizations. She is currently leading the Fund Raising Leadership Team for the Hill Center’s community campaign ($3.2 million).
